Our beautiful daughter Leah Anabel Kelly died at just four days old after being born prematurely. This website is to honour her life and help raise money in her name for relevant charities.

 More has to be done:

Other than the help my family has received from Chestnut Tree House, we have received hardly any help from the NHS. As parents of a 4 year old as well as Leah we worry constantly about the inpact this has had to him, with every comment he makes or question he asks we wonder if we have given him too much information or too little. We struggle to find the answers to his questions, just as we struggle to find the answers to our own.

I want more help to be avaliable to parents, siblings and familes of babies and children who die. When our children are born healthy we have regular check ups from a health visitor, not only for physical help but for mental help too, they oftern pick up on post natal depression and other mental illness's why then is this not given to parents of children who have not survived?

I am campaigning and raising money for parents that sadly loose babies and children: my aim is to give speacialist help to every parent and their familes, to offer advice and help with funeral arrangements, to raise money for headstones for families not able to afford them, to give help in building memories with their child and to eventually open a house which provides cold cots and all the above under one roof.

This care should be avaliable on the NHS the same as when we have healthy babies, but its not!!

About Us:

After our daughter Leah died at just four days old we wanted to help the organisations and charities that had shown us such generosity and kindness in both the days she was with us and the days, months and even today after she had passed away. As well as wanting to say thank you we also had a burning need to do something in memory of her, keep her name alive and above all organise something for her.

We as parents will never have the pleasure of organising a birthday party for Leah, nor a holiday or school trip so we wanted to donate our time to help the amazing charities that have helped us to begin to grieve.

Our logo is a Gladiolus flower, seen in the photo to the left, as this is the birth flower for the month of August, the month Leah was born. When researching this flower we found that it also holds meanings that are perfect for describing Leah: Beauty, Strength of character, love and family. Not only do these words describe the kind of person Leah was, but also match her middle name Anabel, taken from the latin word Amabel, meaning 'easy to love' or 'Lovable'.

The two charities close to our hearts are, The Trevor Mann Baby Unit at The Royal Sussex County Hospital and Chestnut Tree House. Both a huge part of Leah's and our lives. Please see our charities.

On this website you will find our story, ways to help, information on our up and coming Charity Auction Night and details about how to contact us.
